    No because the vga to cat 5 is only a cable conbverter not a media converter - same as it wont work via a switch

    You would need to convert the video to an ip stream first, same as you can't do it over fibre without converting first.

    As jamesreedersmith says, basically a vga - cat5 adapter just sends vga signals over a cat5 cable, but doesn't use TCP/IP or anything like that. So, your homehub wouldn't know what was going on. You'd need a VGA to IP adapter rather than a VGA to Cat5 adapter. Something along these lines - StarTech.com Ethernet to VGA over IP Converter Video/audio extender - External

    I should have know that! Looking at the cost involved in all the bits, it would be cheaper to get someone in to install a freesat dish.

    I've just been quoted 135 quid for a sat dish install with a quad lnb but only one cable from it so well cheaper!
