Hello All,
a few years back (before moving into our new shiny BSF School) we used to have an "Intranet" server which was basically IIS with Windows Media Services, used to stream videos to machines on our LAN.
I have been looking into resurrecting the project, but was wondering if there are any good open source alternatives to stream XVID/DivX files to the network, and even better over port 80.
Thank you
Garry

Try this MediaCore: The Open Source Online Video CMS been looking at it myself even though we have a Windows media server working this is something worth looking at.

THe plugin mythweb will allow teachers to pre-record or stream to the classroom. For everything else we just put it on Moodle and it streams from the browser.
