    Did anybody have any joy with this?

    I've tried Hitachi several times this week with a unit which is 3 1/2 years old - so out of warranty - They will not budget and refuse to replace the unit.

    We were a BSF rebuild so have around 60 Hitachi UDST projectors - I'm not looking forward to this happening across the whole site!

    @plexer

    I haven't removed the projector from the mount yet or stripped it down, but it has finally died.
    I'll do this asap and then get back to you :-)

    Had that on a few of those, one was repaired as still under warranty, one repaired at quite a cost and one which was written off due to cost and age of that projector. Still like them though although tending to get the LED ones now.

    We've stripped this one down now and there are three cogs, all which are missing half of their teeth. Does anybody know a good place to order cogs?! :-/

    @laserblazer without one to look at or a complete set of drawings I've got no where to start, I'm not going to strip one of our working ones for the cog

    I guess I can see your reasoning I've emailed Hitachi to see if they are still supporting out of warranty projectors with this fault.

    Same problem over here, I managed to 3d print one of the cogs (35 teeth one) but still isnt working, I think the small one on the mirror was also broken, opening it up again now

    We've had nine of these projectors with the same issue over the last year or so all out of warranty. Last time an engineer came out, he said Hitachi had increased the warranty to 5 years on this model and should of emailed us with the details but had never hear anything from them. Worth a call to support. They have started swapping the projectors so you get a new projector and new lamp
