Soundbars. Anyone have one and what do you think?

I was tempted by this offer from Richer Sounds this weekend: Sharp HTSB200 | Soundbar | Richer Sounds

At £49 it is a bargin, however it is also the school holidays and children need entertaining, coupled with the fact I don't even know if they are up to much (this one has received some very positive reviews though) and there is no sub in this one.
For those of you who don't know what they are, to put it simply they provide the 'oomph' that modern slim TFT\plasma TV speakers do not. Since CRT TV's have bitten the dust there is no longer room to fit in they kind of speakers that would provide the range of sound required for modern high definition TV\movies, so soundbars integrate 5.1, sub-woofers etc in one slim(ish) package. Anyway, just so I'm better informed in the future, does anyone have one of these (any make/model), and what are they like sound wise?

Great for my tv instead of the standard small one you get with 5.1 surround sound systems. Not got that model but I imagine it would be similar.

I forgot to include that soundbars also alleviate the requirment for speakers trailing wires everywhere!

Parents-in-law have a pair of Yamaha ones - cost much more than that but similar function, no sub. Very impressive - one is coupled with a Samsung 42" Series 5 LCD, which have notoriously weedy speakers.

the yamaha ones are built like tanks and are suprisingly effective, the sharp one, not sure what it's 3d simulation is like, but as an alternative to an external stereo or a substitute for weedy built in speakers for £49 you can't go wrong. probably worth getting the cheap richer sounds extended warranty as well.

I'm not goign to buy it, besides, they only have a few left and they don't post them out (and I have better things to currently spend my money on). The stores that do have them are a couple of hundred miles away as well. It'll be intersting to see if the price of these drop over the coming years as they are still quite a new device.
