    WTV to AVI

    Hello,

    i am currently trying to convert a WTV file to AVI. I however cannot find any download other than one you have to pay for. Does anyone have any ideas on this one as i am completly stumped.

    I have tried MC-TV which converts it for free but it does not complete the conversion and leaves some off the clips.

    Unfortunately it only converts the audio, no video is converted.

    Transcode_Wiki: Transcode Wiki should be able to do it. I haven't tried this exact conversion, but I have used it to convert some pretty bizarre formats.

    MC-TVConverter 2.0.0 - VideoHelp.com Downloads

    or

    WTV remux to MPG

    If you use the latter link ( graph edit ) then you can convert mpg / mpeg to avi

    handbrake.fr should allow mpeg ( mpg ) to avi I think

    The latest version of FFmpeg (v0.8) released a few days ago can now decode WTV videos. Download the latest 32-bit or 64-bit static build from here: http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/ (all you need is ffmpeg.exe from the \bin folder).

    You could then use a batch file to convert all of the WTVs into Xvid AVIs (or any other format you want).

    Code:
    @echo off
    for %%a in (*.wtv) do ffmpeg -y -i "%%a" -vcodec libxvid -acodec libmp3lame -b 2000k -ab 256k -f avi -vtag XVID "%%~na.avi"

    Convert the file to a DVRMS file then use Windows Movie Maker to make it into a WMV.

    There is also DVRMSToolbox (DTB) - 1.2.2.4 - andy vt's tools & blog
