Hi all,
I'm looking to ceiling mount our Casio A-140 projectors.
I'm guessing a universal mount should be fine, but cannot find anywhere where it says what size screws that these things take. (They're much smaller ones than I've seen before)
Anybody help?

31st January 2011, 11:29 AM #2 Hi Chris,
I have heard some of the universal mounts have proved to be a bit problematic. RA manufacture a whole series of mounts to suit the Casios, drop me a PM with what you are looking to mount onto and I’ll get pricing over.
Thanks,
Mark

31st January 2011, 11:32 AM #4 Hi - They are M3 thread size, I believe..
I have just bought a TechMount TM-CC Projector Ceiling Mount from
Projector Ceiling Mounts and brackets for projectors from Projector Point
- this comes with every size mounting bolt you could need..

I met with a company a few weeks ago who had made their own mount, it was fully adjustable and looked great, I have attached a pdf of their flyer, they should be able to give you the info you need.

31st January 2011, 11:59 AM #7 We have the RA mounts from CP-Ltd, they're fantastic and very easy to install. If mounting onto an existing pole, they do different fixings so just make sure you get the right ones. We did try fiddling around with existing or universal mounts, complete waste of time.

The Unicol universal gap plates also work with the Casios and come with a small enough screw and washer.

Another vote for the above here. The Sahara kits, simply work, have everything included for easy installation.

We've used these Sahara mounts also and had all the screws and bits required to mount the Casio projectors.

31st January 2011, 08:46 PM #12 Or of course you can use a piece of mdf to interface between the Casio and your existing mount - just need some 3mm bolts and you in business for about £1
see JS Enterprises (or their Chorley branch offshoot for details

Cannot beat a bit of MDF at times, it was significantly cheaper than dealing with the Asbestos issue in that primary school, £1K to remove that area of Asbestos ceiling, fit it out with the right timbers to be able to change the mount and put up a plaster ceiling in that section of room! VS a scrap bit of MDF from the DT Department and the bolts from my large box of Sahara Mount Spares
School very happy with the much cheaper projector fitment price and it didn't touch the asbestos ceiling so the LA H&S People very happy.

1st February 2011, 10:07 AM #14 Our site manager had been making open box sections , so they could sit on the shelf inside, but it was too expensive timewise, so we're looking at Universal mounts for the 50mm poles they're attached to at the moment.
So far, been quoted £190 for 4 mounts, but there was no clarification on the fitments to the projector.
