Calling satellite experts
I've done myself a motorised dish set up and just need some pointers.
I aligned the dish at due south/position 0, set my lat and long, set my reference satellite (thor 1w) and can pick up these birds with my 80cm dish and technomate 0.1 gold lnb -
eutelsat w2a 10e
astra 1h 19.2e
arabsat 2b 20e
arabsat 5a 30.5e
Am I not on the arc properly or is this all you would expect to pick up in my location?

The skew of the LNB is adjusted automatically as the motorised dish moves along the arc, though you have to be 100% sure that the pole / motor / and dish are vertical (spirit level, along with the dish) when setting up the motorised setup initially.
What you can receive depends on many factors:
- Where you are located (Satellite Footprint)
- The size of the Dish
- Satellite Receiver
- Weather Conditions
- Clear view of sky (trees, buildings etc)
- Quality of installation (single run of high grade cable etc)
Have a look at Satellites Forum (Motorised Section here is full of useful information including Satellite Footprints etc.

I think, my elevation angles on the motor/dish bracket are slightly off. I gave up when it got dark last night but 9 satellites got me something to watch (Top Gear - in god knows what language amused me for a couple of minutes)
I'm going to re-align on due south and motor it to 1w and get it spot on tonight then try again to find the arc, I must be close!
Wish me luck
