    We've got 3 or 4 of the TTS ones. Not had any complaints. They're not for showing texts, more for showing objects or pictures etc...

    We used one in assembly this last week, to show off some tiny objects to a hall full of kids - they worked perfectly.

    For my money its just adding another bit of complexity to a system and is something else to go wrong. I can see a use for them in science but for most other subjects I think it is a way of avoiding getting the resource you are trying to show in an electronic format.
