    Mic and Stand supplier?

    Hi,

I've been asked by our music teacher to have a look at getting some new microphones and stands for the hall. They would mostly be used for speaking/singing but occasionally instruments as well.

I've been suggested by a friend to get the Shure SM-58 Microphone and an audio technica mic stand. (Want to spend about £70-80 on each mic and about £50 on the stand). Does anyone know of a good supplier for this kind of equipment? The music teacher has bought stuff before, but has had problems with delivery times and needs the stuff in the next few weeks.

    Thanks

    I'd recommend these guys - "Shure" Shure SM58 Set (5m Lead / Stand / SM58) at Studiospares

I've bought from them before, and they have good delivery times/customer service.

Be sure to buy SM58s from a reputable dealer. There are lots of identical looking, terrible sounding, Chinese knock-offs around. Avoid flea-bay like the plague!

Studiospares would be good, and their "own-brand" mic stands are quite good too. Strike Me! Look at their special offer here! £102 inc VAT for a 58, stand and cable!
