4th June 2010, 10:27 AM #1 Projector Replacement Project - Advice / Quotations Required
Can anyone recommend any AV Projector Suppliers (or indeed the suppliers themselves) that may be able to assist with a projector replacement project?
I am looking at replacing approx 17 projectors within the school that are currently ceiling mounted using UNICOL Pole and (non) universal brackets that are projecting onto SMART Board 580/680 and a couple onto projector screens.
Ideally I am looking for models of projector(s) that can be installed at the current pole location (and either modifying the existing bracket / or source a compatible universal bracket) as relocating the pole / mains is not really an option.
I have collated together all the models, distances from projector to screen, screen dimensions etc, that I can send to any supplier who feel like they can assist with this project.
Many Thanks.
PM Me.

4th June 2010, 10:31 AM #2 We usually get ours installed by Active Visual . They do a good job whenever I deal with them and seem to always come in under the price of other installers.
On the projector front, I'd suggest looking at the Casio models, as they're 'bulbless' (ie. don't need replacement bulbs), filterless (don't need cleaning), have a large distance range (so you can use them to replace a good range of projectors without having to use different models, or move poles).

4th June 2010, 10:51 AM #3 Thanks LocalUK,
I've looked into the Casio LED models a few months back but I didn't realise until i've just found a screen size calculator on ProjectorPoint's Website how flexible this model (and zoom is) as our pole locations vary up from 2m to 3.6m from the screen.

Indeed, it makes replacing existing ones a 5 minute job now! Just swap the bracket, set the zoom and voila done. It should also auto-correct the keystone too!

Found some reviews stating poor image quality and brightness, and rainbow effects??
Thanks.

Very good image quality so far. Much better than the HP and Epson models we have replaced. However, the main users of the 2 projectors we have haven't yet done any video playback. I will ask them in a week or so what they think, and report back.

14th June 2010, 04:25 PM #8 @MYK-IT: Right, I've had a chat with the teachers who have the Casio projectors in place, and both have said that image quality is superb and they've had no issues with flickering etc... I would have been surprised if this age of DLP technology still had rainbow effect issues to be honest!

Thanks Localzuk,
I am still waiting for the quotation(s) to get back to me, in addition I am trying to get a sample / loan projector so i can see it first hand before spending quite a lot of money!
