    Projector recommendations and bulb price

Has anyone got any projector recommendations/warnings?

Need a low cost (!) unit for Smartboard use to be ceiling mounted in a room that doesn't get used all day/week and is naturally reasonably dim. Long lamp life and/or cheap replacement a priority.

One of the new Casio's would be good if you can get hold of them, but the chance of that is slim.

Other than that I prefer NECs and they are good value for money and nice products and lamps are not that badly priced either.

NEC/Epsons would be my recommendation - they seem to last/reasonable bulb replacement prices.

Some of my NECs are still going from my early days in primaries 7 years ago

I keep one in the back of my car thats about 5 years old thats a bit intermittant and a bit dim but is good as an emergency spare.

I got my last NEC from Sheila at CCS media last October - they were best price on BuyFocus.

    regards

    Simon

We use the Epson EB-S7+ SVGA.
    About £360 ex VAT.

Really bright at 2300 Lumens and includes 1 free replacement lamp.

They are ideal with Promethean and Smart boards.

I would agree with Marc, Probably worth paying the extra for X7, Just because of it being XGA.

Alot better for displaying text etc SVGA is fine if being used to display images and larger text.

Just ordered an NEC NP215 for £305: 2500 Lumens, XGA, 3 year warranty but until it arrives and lasts a while I can't comment further as I've never bought NEC before.
