LG had similar devices on their stand - light-weight, compact, bulbless LED projectors.

Something tells me that demand is going to outstip supply of these for a while. Might be easier getting your hand on rocking horse sh*t, at least in the short term. As with everyone else - I want one, I want one, I want one!

Actually would love to replace my TV with one.

I saw those - they looked pretty good and i was amazed at how bright the screen was for only 300 ANSI lumens and from such a distance, bearing in mind the masses of lights that were around in the area.

They were cheating a bit though by using a curved screen!

IIRC the other models on the market at the moment are all low lumens models - Samsung make a similar one. The beauty of the Casio model is the fact you can get it in 2000 - 3500 lumens models.

Ah - didn't think to check the brightness. My home pico projector works fine in a (very) dimly-lit room, but struggles with even standard one-lightbulb's worth of lighting. I'm sure you could cunningly arrange a room so that 300 ANSI lumens looked pretty good, but I don't think that'd work so well in your average classroom.

I got the impression that the next model up was going to be a proper classroom-capable projector, although only the product-concept prototype was on display at LG's stand. Did like the look of that 65" touch screen, though.

They were cheating a bit though by using a curved screen!
Perfect, I have a curved living room wall...

it was shockingly clear and bright, i even went across the stand to look at it.

the curved screen just lets you have it bigger, and the brightness didn't appear to suffer at all.

even so, i prefer to turn the lights out

Our Head has approached the NM asking about these Projectors.

We going to try get a test unit as we are looking at replacing all Our HP projectors this year.

These going to be worth the investment? or would be be better to get a good quality standard projector?

    Thanks
