The idea is like using a projector. You can set up everything on the screen infront of you, and use the 2nd wall mounted screen in the same means as an interactive whiteboard / projector setup would work.
Instead of the teacher and student leaning across the desk to touch the screen, they can work with the touchscreen monitor on the opposite wall.
The room cannot fit a projector easily, the touchscreen is cheaper, allows the same amount of interactivity (on a smaller scale, which isnt a problem with 1on1) and the staff member can still use their desk to perform normal works when not teaching. (not at the same time ofc)

I still don't see why a big monitor wouldn't suffice though. How many people when doing 1:1 teaching would want to stand up and deliver it from a whiteboard anyway? Surely one of the reasons to do 1:1 is the more personal approach, so both people sat at the same (big) monitor would be good, using the mouse and/or graphics tablet for any interactivity which is required.
I don't know your specific situation, Psymon, but do check what they are asking for against what they actually need. Do they NEED a wall-mounted touch-screen, or have they just been to a conference and heard about them?
Replacing the monitor on there desk with a touchscreen is the solution. Gonna order one in and give it a go. Worse case scenario we move them to Win7 earlier than the rest of the school.
Many thanks,
Si
