Should be one that says something along the lines of

Audio In ( HDMI 2 ) , you can alternatively use the PC Audio In

I purchased the cables from ebay so

    A - they were cheap
B - if they did not work they did not cost much as per A
C - Was more convenient then trying to find cables in stores such as B & Q or PC World or wherever.

The PC Audio In was a 3.5mm audio jack where as the Audio In for HDMI 2 seems to be 2 mono connectors ( red and white ) RCA

If you could post a link to the model of tv you have or a photo of the back of your tv so we can see connectors we could go from there.

If you have the option for optical on your mac mini - that would give you the best quality although for what I was doing Just using either a 3.5mm audio jack to 2 RCA ( red and white ) connectors or a double ended 3.5mm audio jack cable was good enough for me.

If you want a simple link between your PC for video and sound I would just use VGA at 1360 x 768 resolution and a 3.5 jack to phono cable directly into the television for sound.

Alternatively, upgrade your graphics card to a HDMI card and connect directly into the screen and again a 3.5 jack to phono cable directly into the television for sound.

If you want 100% digital, buy a sound card with optical out and buy a HDMI graphics card. You then connect the sound card into the graphics card via optical, then HDMI from the graphics card into the television. This in theory is best quality you can achieve.

    Hi,

I got my cable today, and it works fine at 1290 x 1080 with audio with my mac. what is the difference between a non Dual Link cable and a Dual Link cable? I purchased a cable that was not Dual Link.

    Thanks

I struggled to get my mac mini working at optimal res on a samsung 40" tv at 1080p. Until i read the instructions that is. For anyone out there you need to tell the tv which hdmi connection you wish to use for PC connection. This will then switch the PC channel over to this HDMi port and route the sound going into the red and white (RCA?) ports as well. My old man has his mac mini connected upto a 46 " samsung (both of these are series 6 by the way) using VGA. He has real trouoble getting his mini to detect the resolution all the time. I use DVI to HDMI and have had no problems. VGA apparently should also be auto-sensing but i don't think it works as well as DVI/HDMI.

Zak, if you have 2 1080 options, one will be i and the 2nd p.

    I can't recall if it states the p .
