Thank you for that, Some issues to think about there.
My tv signal is poor as i have the dish i'm thinking free sat is the easier solution.
Does anyone know of any cards and where i can purchase them from.![]()
Many Thanks
I'd have a look here - Computer Hardware - All - Multimedia / TV - Scan.co.uk
Don't get a Hauppage their drivers leave a lot to be desired
This is a bit of a mind field ..... new technology !!
Has anyone purchased a free sat card and has it working with media center![]()

I am a HUGE media PC fan. If you have Windows Media Center (go for Windows 7 as you get the HD channels too) you get the channekl listing downloaded via the media center app anyway. I would plump for a HD tuner card. I have these 2 fitted:
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online - Scan.co.uk!
BGT3540 - BlackGold
Both work flawlessly. You should look for a duel purpose card (DVB-T, DVB-S), although since the Blackgold card is no longer available it may be hard to find a low profile one.

I use a Hauppauge Win-TV-Nova-HD-S2 card. The version 7 software is pretty good, but I don't use the remote.
