About bl**dy time i've been using it since the C64 was around (well it feels like it) typical OSS project how many pre release versions can you have. Well they got there at last and I do like it![]()
Anyone got an MSI for this?
Pretty sure it does a silent install with a switch so if you need an MSI you can just use the MSI wrapper wizard to make it go.
It doesn't actually need installing - you can just copy the files into a folder and it works.

I used WinInstall and it creates a very basic clean msi of it and it deploys very well.
Steve, if you just install it to a folder on the network do you need a script to set file associations?
Cheers.

Am on an apple mac and still have vlc installed and thanks to this post checked there website to re install the latest version but now use plex
Plex Media Center for OS X
A lot better then front row
if you already know how to create or manually make an MSI then ignore this but there is advanced installer ( free edition )
Free Windows Installer - MSI Installer Tool
which you can use to make an msi from an exe ( I believe ) and you may be able to use that in group policy to distribute software
