    Hard Disk Camcorders

    Do these still exist or is it all SD card versions nowadays?
    We need to replace some aging camcorders and in the past we have had SD cards go missing when cameras were returned. Our current Hard disk camcorders were good in this respect. Would be ideal to replace them with same.

    Panasonic do them.

    @plexer - Don't think that one in the link is a hard drive camcorder. doesn't mention it anywhere.

    Doh!!! sorry saw HD and thought HDD.

    We used Panasonic ones before so thought they might still do some HDD ones perhaps not

    Canon - Legria HFR48 were our latest models. Probably been superceded now, but good cameras and cheap. Still seem to be about.

    That uses an SD Card also.

    Looks like there just aren't any Hard Drive based Camcorders anymore.
    Will have to bite the bullet and go for SD Card based ones.

    +1 for canon Legria HF-R** range. we use R36 cameras here, great little cams although the touch screen interface can be a bit of a pain.

    Nope. It takes an SD card. Doesn't need one though, it has internal storage.

    sony handycams here

    works with mac and windows out the box

    staff make dvds with windows dvd maker

    no need to convert files

    works with premier pro
