Open source Interactive projector software
Our school has not been a big adopter of interactive whiteboards mainly due to quite a lot of staff not wanting them so giving the problem of providing for those who want and those who don't in the same classroom. So where we have gone for interactive solutions we have installed interactive projectors on plain whiteboards thus accommodating both staff groups.
We have both Hitachi and Epson interactive projectors The Hitachi ones, more recently adopted, include the Starboard software which seems very good but he software supplied with the earlier Epson ones is quite limited. I've been asked to look for a brand independent Interactive Software that could be used with them and have come across the open source one called Open Sankore. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this or any other alternatives and how they find them?

Annoyingly, PowerPoint is still one of the most flexible bits of presentation software available. You can embed pretty much anything in a PowerPoint slide, including videos and interactive Flash widgets, and it has its own handwriting tools built-in. You could try some of the web-based presentation tools around 0 Google's is sure to be pretty good, although I'm not sure how well it handles embedding other things inside slides.
