    CCTV File extension CCL

    Been sent a cctv clip and the extension is .CCL - won't play in VLC. Anybody any idea what this is ?

    It's likely to a proprietary format. Ask whoever sent it to email the download link for the viewer/player app - most cctv manufacturers have a free app you can bundle with footage when submitting it to the police.

    Using
    Code:
    file /path/to/footage.ccl
    on a linux/mac box might give you more info.

    Download MediaInfo from here and install it:

    MediaInfo

    Right click the file, choose MediaInfo from the context menu and see what it says about the video file format. It should show encoding type etc, you might be able to rename the extension to something more usable?

    Emailed them and they have supplied some player, I checked the headers and there was nothing there
