    Xibo

    Hi All,

    I've recently taken over some Xibos and for one of the departments we have a cork background with post-it notes pinned to it; Iíve been trying to get the text to appear from .txt files which is working using:

    Code:

    <html>
     <body>
    <font face="verdana">

    <?php

    include("http://localhost/1.txt"); ?>

     </body>
     </html>

    However; using this is creating a white background around the text instead of us seeing the coloured background from the post-it note. Has anyone done anything similar to this or have any suggestions of getting text from somewhere else i.e a shared drive?

    Thanks
    Jamie

    Xibo on windows doesn't use transparency, so webpages, etc will have that background behaviour. The way to get around it is to make the webpage background match and then it'll display how you want it.

    Instead of using a text file, you can put the text directly into XIBO. This will result in the background transparency, but means you will need to edit the text through XIBO rather than text files. We've done what you are after but as we have layouts for specific events it's easier to maintain. Alternatively we have used RSS feeds.

    If you use

    file_get_contents instead of include, might be worth a shot.

    Sorry Jamie - Not an answer to your question but a request. I really like your xibo layout. Any chance of getting a copy?
