RM Volume Control - safevol
Hello all,
One of our RM One Touch machines has an issue where there's no sound coming from the speakers. On initial investigation the 'RM Volume Control' is muted and when I go to un-mute it (untick) I get the following message box appear:
SafeVol - Could not open Mixer device
Anyone any idea how to fix please?
Thanks,
NS

Is this on XP or Vista/7?
Safevol does not work on Vista/7 so although it says muted it's not doing anything. You could try installing safevol v1.13 if you are still using 1.8 which may work, this is available as an optional CC4 update CC4UPD106. Having said that we just give users access to the windows audio panel to allow them to change volume.
One more point, is this for all users or just one? If it is just one clear the my settings folder in the user's N:drive (not their profile!). Seems to do the trick when users can't change vol or vol appears muted.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Sorry for late reply.
Thanks for the replies.
Most users' profiles are locked down with policies in RM CC4 here so I think I'll try and change the policy like you said and give them the option to change the volume.
Thanks,
NS
