If it's here - going by recent leaves, about a year! Good luck with the interview.

I think that paid Maternity leave is for 12 weeks. After that they can take non-paid leave for 12 months?? and still be guaranteed a job when they come back.

Again that is just from talking with a teacher here that is expecting in a couple of months

Around 10-12months. 1-2 Months Prior, and the rest afterwards. Three Months are paid at full pay, and here in the UK the rest is paid at Statutory Maternity Leave Pay, think its around 65-75% of full wage.

    Good look with the interview.

Glad you didnt stay up, its taken me till now to get back on here. Was up so early for the interview (5am, it was about a 1.5hr commute to the interview - ill need to move if I get the job) and by the time I got back it was still only 10am so went and spent the whole day at the beach ()

Anyway, I think it went OK. They liked that I had previous school experience, and also having worked in a school in australia before (albiet as a 17yr old on GAP).

I was open and honest about only being available for 6months (visa limit unfortunately) but they seemed OK with that...

They didnt ask me if I had any questions at the end, not sure if thats a bad sign that they had seen enough and just wanted me out..

But it was good to finally get an interview at least after the many applications i sent out in the last couple of weeks.

Yeh, 12 days out of winter. I think theres still snow on the mountains. It was 22C here yesterday, water temp of 20C (I should have taken a picture of the sign) and I was the only one in without a wetsuit. Its cold here just now Went for a walk, took about 2 hours, and I visited 7 different beaches.

    I hope I can get a visa extension :P
