Those are my two cats on the cake.
This has to be the most obnoxious printer I have used lately (with the exception of our new Ricoh at work but that's a photocopier and sits top of the evil hardware food chain automatically).
I can't think of any printer that will jam it's print jobs, make you so frustrated that you turn it off....then print what you wanted to when you turn it back on a week later. And it still refuses to print what you want to print even if you power cycle it.
This printer isn't just failing,

So, I've got all the VLAN in place ready for VOIP, just a few tweaks to be done to servers and stuff but nothing major. I'm still trying to nail down the exact QoS configuration but I've put that ball in the court of the supplier for now . I've got a 10 more Switches with PoE on order in places where we don't have the capacity.
Further discussions with the supplier states that the system needs to be able to Multicast, and with the Softphone feature on the desktops PCs it looks

1 day to go of work and I'm starting to drift into the random daydreams that make people believe I'm lazy...
I'm actually surprised it's started so late, though that may be because I've been focused on sorting out our sound and flash problems. [They're still not fully sorted out... mearly "close enough"]

For the past few years we have had some terrible snowfalls. For the most part it is further north this year with the south being mostly unaffected. Forecasts show a brief minor risk of snow flanked either side with rain and rather mild temperatures nearer Christmas.
So where is this snow? Seems to be plenty of gimmicks being punted by the advertisers.
I know people who have gone out buying snow shoe grips, snow chains, all sorts of stuff that you should use abroad in
Epson Powerlite 460 projector that turns colors. Manual says to check connections. That didn't solve it. Have a student who is prone to seizures and can't use it. It flickers when the color changes. Projector was not on long before it started to flicker colors so I don't think it's a heat thing.
I had one of those moments today; the mist cleared (only slightly) in sorting our network out with a VLAN ready for a VOIP implementation.
The various posts here on Edugeek once again proved valuable, and I'm chuffed to bits that I've got it sorted to a certain point (have yet to tweak various Server gateway addresses).
Next step later on down the line is to start segmenting the next work into logical parts but need a NAT box of somesort to do that correctly.
The home phone rings right before a nice cup of coffee and interrupting a typical British chat about the weather.
"Hello, I'm calling from Scottish power. Is Mrs X in?"
"Uhh..no this is a relative, she isn't here. Is this a sales call?"
"No, a sales call would be if I was offering the beast deal for your electricity or gas."
What a weird thing to say. Maybe this is a genuine call for said relative. I decide

Right... as part of a corporate branding exercise - I have been working on sorting out the email signature front.
Before everyone says it - yes, I know you can do a "sort of solution" on the Exchange server. Im not going to cover that one in this post - as its more designed for Disclaimers. If you want to know more on that - Google "Exchange Transport Rule Disclaimer". Why not Exchange Transport Rules
