Good Morning I have i mimio unit that i have had issues with from day 1. on Monday i was advised that while he was using the mimio teach it stoped working and that he presumed that it was beacuse the pen had run out of charge, that however does not seem to be the case as i have had the pen on charge for 2 full days without it being used and there is no life in the unit, has any1 had this problem or did i get a friday/monday unit?

This is the killer feature in Windows 7 as far as I'm concerned. This and the searchable Start Menu. It's simple, but I use it dozens of times a day. It's quick. It's effective. It's listed in the title of this blog post, completely undermining any attempted suspense. It is, of course, the wonder of ICT Tip 037 - Aero Snap.doc! A lot of people have no idea that this exists, despite it being useful for nearly everyone. Send it out. Tell them. Share the joy of knowledge. Just ...
Quite a bit has happened since November... First off my Kubuntu install fell apart after most of my games library was locked out regardless of WINE. The titles that did work with WINE were too big a pain to get working again and I just wanted my incredible gaming rig back! Since my Windows 7 CD Key was coming up invalid, I found myself forced to install Windows 8 and after an initial "I hate Metro" period it proved to be quite a usable OS...if you throw Metro out the window. ...

Yesterday was the day we planned to upgrade our Sophos Enterprise Management Console from version 5.0 to version 5.2. Initially things went ok but then the upgrade failed because a component was missing from the database. Ten out of ten to Sophos support in particular Michael Garewal who spent 3 hours online with me fixing this problem. That really is excellence in Support that would be unbeaten anywhere in my opinion. Thanks Sophos and Michael. I'm one happy Sophos customer.
we have succesfully used Office 365 from the beginning with all our staff. well used and everyone is happy. I want to add pupils to this, but there is concern about students seeing staff emails on list, spam and all other naughties that can previal. Any experience of this out there I'd like to hear from you ? One suggestion was to use a separate domain for the students and use two Office365 accounts. Can this be done as anyone tried this ?
So Easter is nearly here for us in Schools. Today at 3.30pm I will be loading my car with boxes and boxes of GCSE and A-Level work to mark over the Easter holidays. What can I say - fun, fun, fun! I have been busy in Year 10 lessons preparing my students for an exam on 6th June - Cambridge Nationals in ICT. The unit of study is Computer Systems and does involve, very much the use of computer systems and the more technical aspects of the subject - networks, hardware, etc. The ...
I've mentioned on the forums a few times that we're in the planning stages of implementing System Center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1. I'm now at the end of the planning stage and am moving towards implementation. During the planning stages, we have been evaluating the Mac component of the product. My colleague @Roberto has written a little about it on his blog at It's Always My Problem. You should go read it. Go ahead, I'll wait. Have you ...
Our staff loved this one. Personally I've never used the gesture much - too much in the habit of Win+D then Alt+Tab - but people were at first disbelieving and then endlessly amused. Says something about school staff that, perhaps. So for the entertainment and delight of your peers, here's ICT Tip 036 - Aero Shake.doc Any monetary tips you get from people, let me know and I'll pass you my PayPal details. Not that you should be charging money for these anyway, of course - ...
