Yesterday at School we had a quiz on IT. Now I posted before about my teachers knowing nothing but yesterday I argued with my teacher. Why? Because in his quiz he said that SATA is a type of graphics card and that your BIOS is stored on your Hard Drive. He admitted he was wrong with the SATA question but with the BIOS he said that the BIOS does not boot automatically when you turn your PC on you have to press a button but of course when you turn your computer on the BIOS runs to set everything up and also all BIOS settings are stored on a chip on the motherboard. It makes me sad when teachers are telling a BTEC class the wrong answers and they will go out to PC World and ask for a SATA graphics card.

I'm sure they'd be happy to sell them one!

you would need to start of by buying "'manuals for dummies' for dummies" to get them start on the concept of RTFM

    Hmm, worrying isn't it.

Do they also refer to the PC as the hard drive?

I know a few who refer to the PC being the hard drive, but we all know the hard drive is just the non-volatile storage device inside the case
