  1. What do you do when your Office 365 password falls out of sync?

    by , 30th June 2013 at 04:54 PM
I've had a strange issue occur during my testing of Office 365 prior to launching it and that is several users once activated have had their password fall out of sync, including my account.

I'm almost certain it is related to the activation of an account which is rather a pain really because you need to activate and account in order to use it. While I investigate it further, I have managed to find a helpful solution elsewhere courtesy of this KB2855271 Password synchronization troubleshooting guide for Office 365 ...

  2. ICT Tip #48 - Switching Windows with Alt+Tab

    by , 26th June 2013 at 12:42 PM
Another late post - although I have a good excuse this time, I was busy in the ultrasound room for my wife's 20 week scan yesterday

Following on from last week's look-at-the-shiny-3D-effect ICT Tip #47 - Switching Windows with Win+Tab, this week we have the much more useful, useable and sensible alternative: ICT Tip 048 - Switching Windows with Alt+Tab.doc

Best of luck in getting your users to use it

  3. Windows 8, Disk Usage, and the MSI GE60 Laptop

    by , 25th June 2013 at 12:33 PM
I rarely buy hardware as a complete package, preferring to build my own PCs, however when it comes to Laptops, I felt I ought to play it safe and buy from a brand. I wanted a laptop that was powerful enough to handle the odd game (think UFO: Enemy Unknown rather than Crysis) and wasn't going to break the bank. After much deliberating, I decided on the GE60 by MSI. On paper, it had the right specs, a decent graphics card, fast processor combined with 8GB RAM. The only drawback was the hard drive, ...

Another simple list report which lists learner contacts by group and priority filter.

List all associated contacts or just the ones with above a priority level.

Been a long time since I blogged on here. I have been in iPad training all day today for my school. We are introducing iPads across the school for some lessons. Each department will have to deliver a unit of work solely through iPads. It will be an interesting experiment, and I remain semi-sceptical about it, yet a little excited. Some of the apps that we are using and testing are great, and hold fantastic potential for teaching and learning and assessment.

    We are however also ...
  6. SCCM 2012 + Server 2012 + Vmware ESXi 5 0x80091007 error

    by , 19th June 2013 at 12:44 PM
    Hi,

I thought I would do a quick post to let you guys know about a problem we have been having.

We recently moved our SCCM server to a Server 2012 box from a Server 2008 R2 box. Once we moved during OSD we where getting random hash miss-match errors (error 0x80091007 during OSD). It was very random and happened at different times. There was nothing wrong with our packages. If you set OSD off in a VM it worked every time.

It turned out there seems to be ...

  7. ICT Tip #47 - Switching Windows with Win+Tab

    by , 18th June 2013 at 02:11 PM
One of those quick little tips that makes life much easier - albeit I opted to show the shiny version to people first, because some people are forever impressed by a little bit of 3D gimmickry. It's like Alt+Tab but less useful, it's... ICT Tip 047 - Switching Windows with Win+Tab.doc!

I don't know why I bother trying to build up suspense when I name the tip in the title of every post
  8. ICT Tip #46 - Screenshots in Word

    by , 12th June 2013 at 01:59 PM
Continuing a theme from last week's Snipping Tool, if you're working in Word 2010 you can directly insert screen captures into a document - something else I had to have pointed out to me (by my wife, in this instance). Short and sweet and oh so useful: ICT Tip 046 - Insert Screenshot in Word.doc

  9. Next Gen Consoles, Corporations and Consumerism

Firstly, I should make it clear that this isn't a "pro PC" "anti Console" or other sort of platform bias. I've been doing a fair bit of investigation and prodding around with information from before and during E3 whilst I help look after someone's PR for it.

What does someone want in a console?
Get home from school/work/the pub and you want to relax.
    Feet up on the sofa.
    Controller in hand.
    Unwind with game of choice.
    That game ...

  10. ICT Tip #45 - Snipping Tool

    by , 7th June 2013 at 02:31 PM
    Late again. Sorry!

This one was new to me when a teacher pointed it out, and is actually fantastically useful - particularly if you're trying to train your users in how to report an issue (good luck, if so).

ICT Tip 045 - Snipping Tool.doc is an easy way of screencapping areas of a screen. It is actually quicker than Print Screen -> Open Irfanview -> Paste -> Crop -> Copy -> Paste, so may well be useful to you as well as your end users.

    May all ...
