Well, I've finally finished Dune.

I bought the book in the Summer of 1993 (my final year of uni.)

Finally got around to finishing it after 16 years.

Anyway...

A fantastically well written book, one of those genuinely exciting books, but the ending - what a disappointment! It just stops.

    Do you mean you finished the first book or the whole series?

    And I agree Dune is great but I feel the quality of the series declines.

    Just the first one.
    I understand that some of the sequels are awful.
    Which one should I read next?

    The list is: Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune, and Chapterhouse Dune.

    I feel obliged to finish a series once I start it and it was a real chore by the end. Such a shame as Dune is fantastic.

    Oh and there are some prequels written by his son but I didn't go near those.
