Ta muchly :-)
Thanks heaps for this as I am having fun looking into sharepoint. I will bump your rep score up 20 points
Good luck with this. We have been using sharepoint with the SLG webparts since September and I am loving it.
Just about to roll it out to all students after half term - all departments are in the process of collating resources at the minute to upload.
We also use the MyDocuments webpart from salamandersoft to allow staff and students access to their network MyDocuments from home.
We will also be giving access to our Year 6 students in June so they have a couple of months play before they start in September.
Could you post some screenies possibly?
We are looking into sharepoint but I am struggling to get my head around how I would organise it all.
ok, I tested Win 7 and runs smoothly compared to Vista, shame they cannot run the beta over a longer term, I have tried to change the date, but it expires immediately !, good luck anyway !!!
Or one of those drivers slides onto the pavement your using
I am, I was planning a wipe of both the pc's anyway.
I presume you are aware that this is a beta version ? which expires in a few months?
I did 2 upgrades to windows 7, one on a laptop that was fairly stable as vista and the other a desktop that was pretty mished and both worked
Only problem now is my dell printer does not work but thats typical.
Yeah. There seems to be a handful of sensible road users (such as yourself) who can adjust their driving for the conditions; but others just seem to completely ignore it and think about only themselves. And then wonder why they skid sideways into a lorry/lamppost/wall...
Thankfully I walk to work. The worst that can happen is the bottom of my trousers get wet from all the slush...
I am not too bothered by the snow ... I am happy to drive in it even though I am in a SMART which weighs 3.4 oz and it did a good job of sliding about yesterday.
My problem is that although I drop my speed by 25% min and increase my stopping distance by at least a factor of 5 ... other idiots (the aforementioned teachers in 4x4s perhaps and definitely the ed sales reps speeding up and down the country trying to find a BSF LA to pitch too) ... the simply don't.
My wife was sorry to hear this morning that the local school (walking distance) is closed but her one isn't ... even though her school isn't on a gritted road, has mobiles that get flippin' cold and has students that put stones in snowballs to try and do the most damage.
Agree. Have to say the UAC issues seems to be far better resolved in Windows 7. Vista was a pain with this and your right it doesnt make sense to upgrade to Vista now.
I used a Windows box with Hauppage Satellite card and some software built out of the Xbox Media Centre project. It was pretty good feature wise, although performance was slow in beta. Its now a full release so I might give it another go. MEDIAPORTAL - free media center - Home
I also tried MythTV on a linux box which worked a lot faster but unfortunatly was a sod to configure (matching EPG XML from radio times took ages for 1000+ channels). It's capable of streaming video to a number of clients and can skip commercials though, although I've not used either feature. MythTV
Sounds like a good setup, I've set myself up a media centre box and would not go back to the dark ages of scheduled tv either.
We've done that in previous years, but I was looking for something to automate the process. Couldn't find anything. Thinking of coding something up in Applescript to automate the process - but then I think, what about a fontend/GUI and the whole project takes a huge step forward in complexity!
WHen we are sometimes sat in front of the tv, my wife and I will sometimes play 'GUess the tune' with the Top 100 tracks in iTUnes. I play 10 seconds and she gets one point for the artist and one for the name of the song.
Mundane fun LOLOLOL.
How much does the voicemail/imap stuff cost with cisco? Does anyone use the computer dialing via TAPI, how much is that?
Also anyone got SIP clients to work with cisco? In the interface there's a SIP IP, but it never connects for me.
We use VOIP internally. all cisco. hardphones for everyone in the offices. all teachers have softphones built in to their laptops (not used very often.) SLT, IT and FM have PDA's joined to the VOIP system using wireless. and everyone loves their voicemail being mailed to them.
difficult to support though. we are an independant academy.
My school including others in our area use VOIP, but we are all on an independent system. We are not dictated to by our LEA we are left to it
There has been a little thing called work to do that has gotten in the way.
I now have a sharepoint related blog on the go and concentrating on twitter too. https://www.mylpplus.net/Blogs/tonys...d/default.aspx
