Thanks for this Matthew, a very quick and useful reply. FROGos seems to be turning out ok and there are lots of useful and more easily adaptable elements to it, than Frog 3.
Will keep you posted of our trial,
The refresh issue is due to FrogOS being a browser based platform, so if you refresh the browser itself, it will override whatever Frog is doing.
A few other Schools have hidden the tool bar completely with F11, to reduce the chances of refreshing the page (but this is just a short term fix) it wouldn't eradicate pressing f5 though.
I think we are looking at getting FrogOS to save the state of the platform, in case you accidentally refresh the page. So when it loads up again, you will be exactly at the same point (with all the applications you had open too). Also, maybe adding a refresh button on the Frog Page itself would make it a better user experience (in case the page crashes).
I've shared this feedback with others at Frog for now, and I hope you're enjoying FrogOS apart from that issue.

Sadly they stripped DVD codecs from Win 8 without paying a ransom so that hurts using it for DVD playback.
You could use VLC but your average consumer won't bother with that.
Hear hear. I've been arguing much the same in the PS4 thread
Steam has made my PC life simpler than my PS3 life. New game to install? Click download and Steam sets it up. Updates? Steam downloads it in the background. Even in Windows - I can't remember the last time my whole system was brought to its knees by a crash. At worst, the game itself crashes to desktop, which is rare. My 360 and PS3 have frozen in the past as well.
When the PS3 wants to update, all of a sudden my system is completely useless until I agree to the update. Games and services that worked fine yesterday suddenly absolutely require the new update to work. Not even Windows Updates whinges so much! And should I forgot the PS3's incredibly sensitive nature and - shock horror - just click it off at the socket, I get whinged at next time I turn it on and asked to do a disk check.
The one advantage of console gaming is meant to be ease of use. That's been completely eroded, from both directions.
rabble! rabble! rabble! [I agree.]
We are currently thinking along the same lines. Our plan is to have two separate MX records one for students.sccb.ac.uk and one for staff.sccb.ac.uk.
Hi Excellent post.
Can you please post a link to download your new script that now allows for SSO instead of prompting users for their username and password.
Any updates on getting the OWA signature working? The outlook script worked like a charm, but the OWA would be very helpful!!
A good place is the MIS forum, there are plenty of SIMS experts on here. Post what you want to know and we will see what we can do to help.
My company supplies sims specialists to schools and we can definitely help you out here, we have several sims consultants who work in schools doing exactly what you need on a very flexible basis
Give me a call on 0845 686 0690 or let me know a number and I will call you back
I agree on the career side of things, I've got a reasonable technical background but I don't think that I've really acquired any new technical skills, Iím sure that other facets of the role have helped my soft skills etc.

Nice write up, are you able to let me know the approximate cost of the Parallels agent? Thanks.
Oooh I know how this story ends. Well written as ever, Norphy!
Just thought you would like to know that the latest update (SP1 CU1) now supports Mountain Lion. It was released 4/1/2013. Download Microsoft System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 Configuration Manager - Clients for Additional Operating Systems from Official Microsoft Download Center
Nice interview. The XP/2003 challenge will hopefully dwindle over the next year or so as Microsoft finally lays both Operating Systems to rest and schools move on to newer kit or get left behind.
I do wonder if they plan on overhauling the UI in SIMS though for admin staff. It has a terrible tendency to jump around on the screen in AM7, accept clicks before the page redraws when loading leading to unwanted results (very annoying when trying to teach someone with double-click impulse!) and definitely overhauling the 3.11 style systems like Exams and Options! There are times when I wonder who creates the interface as they don't make it very pleasant to use for us admin workers when digging past front-office duties like timetabling, examinations and assessment.
